Indian ancient texts refer to the use of pearls and certain evidence of the finding of pearl by Lord Krishna are there. In the Rig-Veda, the oldest of Vedas(around 3000 years ago), pearl holds a special place of mention. In Atharva Veda, nearly 2500 years ago, the usage of pearl as a talisman is mentioned.
